Birthday and Spaghetti

My youngest sister has turned 18 three days ago. 

My mum went off for her business trip in Cambodia, my older brother went for Hajj and my younger sister Yana is currently studying in KL. 

It was just the 4 of us - including me, Yaka, Malina and Babah. 

So we invited our cousins from next door to join our very small celebration at home.

Easter Vacation 2011

I'm back! Been resting for a few days now..

Wasn't in a mood to blog at 1st.

My family had a car accident last month X/

SYUKUR ALHAMDULILLAH, everyone was safe without any major injury...

We had to say goodbye to our family car though..

We've been travelling with this Toyota Land Cruiser for as long as I can remember :'(

I'm just really glad my family are okay

Pu3's 1st vlog - My Speech Problem

I have trouble trying to speak clearly since I was a kid. 

 Possibly its due to my overcrowded crooked teeth that makes me harder to pronounce properly (note that I have a great phobia for dentist that stopped me from wearing braces when i was 13)

.. or maybe I am just plain lazy. 

I thought I should have gone for speech therapy when I was young = =

But I didnt have trouble talking out loud in public all my life until recently since I got into Uni in a foreign country. 

Okay okay, I still talk a lot, but not in class ok! 

Somehow I have lost my confidence to speak up in class  (where im the only one asian there). 

I stuttered everytime I tried to talk - which was super annoying cause my course mates couldn't understand what I was trying to say.

So I thought having a video diary would help me improve my speech. 

My Vlog 

(I have no intension to post this up in public at 1st actually)

I apologize for changing my voice all the time (= =') but I don't like hearing my own voice lol..secondly, it's my 1st time playing around with the clip adjustments in iMovie 11 :P

  Funny thing is I didn't plan to put any accent, but it somehow automatically switched on everytime I tried to say it out loud and clear. 

What I'm actually disappointed about myself about is... how my english speaking is getting worst over the years.

I listened to my old cassette diary recorded when I was in primary 6 (yes, I used to record my daily activity using a walkman too!).. and I'm seriously shocked to know that I sounded better back then! 

When I was a kid, one of my dreams was to be a reporter ToT
Now, I can't even speak properly in front of a recording camera, I even lost for words easily and started saying nonsense... Not to mention, my front crooked teeth that will drive people crazy.
Daymn, Li'l Pu3 must be really disappointed to see me now.
No no! I should not let myself down!

Living RazorShell Seafood

Few nights ago~
Jeri treated me out for a hotpot dinner in Shanghai Restaurant (located on Portland Street, Aberdeen).
The restaurant specialises in fresh seafood (recommended!)... Not that I never seen living sea-creatures to be cooked for dinner, but it was the 1st time seeing living Razor clams!

Here's the photo i took with my iphone (T_T I should have brought my camera!) 

I even took a video of it! 

I tried these things before, (my family are big fans of seafood ;)).. but weren't as big! 

The thing is... I never thought it looked so much like a WORM! (and I couldn't stand these creepy wrigglers!)  

The shell popped open once it was put into the boiling soup~ I was shocked by the real ugly alien looks of that creature. I didn't remember eating such a thing! 

I was afraid to try at first. So Jeri took the bite.  

I took my guts to eat the next cooked one afterwards.

But...

I couldn't take my mind off that horrible vision while chewing its 'tail'. 

At the end...

I couldn't finish it. 

(Hardly even a bite)

How bout you guys? Any of you love Razor clams??

 I know its a common seafood but I seriously never thought I would feel this way all the sudden!

My flatmates Sa and Nano went back home to Brunei 2 days ago T_T And Jeri is on the plane to Hong Kong now..
T_T I'm feeling so lonely T_T

World Cup! *_* Not much of a fan (due to my football-obsessed boyfriend).. lol...
Nevertheless, seems like my holiday's going to be all about it. ^^
Sa bought a whole FIFA World Cup 2010 sticker box (containing 100 packs) and actually recorded a video on the process of sticking them onto the album! Played along with the theme song, Waka Waka :) Love it!

Chocobanana!!

Instead of complaining how stressful my days are *_* now that my exams are getting closer and closer~..

Made these chocobananas for my Nippon Connections (society) Natsu Matsuri festival 2 weeks ago. Im so thankful Sa and Nano were willing to help :')~ its was our very 1st attempt and i am proudly to say that it was a success! \(^v^)/

Bird attack!
Those crazy pigeons nearly scratched my head off! Okeh fine~... it was a stupid dare i made placing my hand full of bird seeds on my head. Nyeh, it was fun anyway :P

So anyway,
Had a call from Faridah (my tiny lil cousin who's only months younger than me) 3 days ago .
I started missing her afterward and watched the video i made last winter holiday together :)
All the videos took in Venice Italy and Liverpool were compiled into one very short video. You wont see much of the environment around in it, its more about us.

Video is only less than 2 minutes, won't kill to watch! Tell me what you think :D

I Want White-faced Scops Owl!

I couldn't take my mind off these creatures~ the African White-faced Scops Owl are just so~ COOL!! Not only they are cute, they also have the anti-predator ability to transform! ^^ Ahh~ i wish i can have my very own owl, it would be so interesting yah Peter? :P Imagine..........
Fine, it may look lame. But we had a great laugh after watching the youtube video with everyone. ^^

Its in Japanese, but it doesnt matter really.


The owl is named Popo
When the Popo encountered a weaker owl species (in this case, a Barn owl), he spread his feathers looking larger to scare the other creature.
But when Popo faced a stronger owl species (Eurasian Eagle-Owl), he shrank and narrowed his eyes trying to hide itself from the Eurasian Eagle-Owl by making sure he looks like a tree branch hahaha.
If you notice, he kept on twisting its body trying to face its back toward the enemy, this is because the feather's on Popo's stomach are non-camouflaging white colour.

The reason for this ability is that White-faced Scops Owls are very good at controlling their feathers. The actual body is quite small but has very thick feathers. Therefore, their size can be changed easily simply by puffing or flattening their feathers.

I have to make a presentation on animal behaviour next two weeks and I really wanna talk about this creature's defense mechanism. Unfortunately I couldn't find the specific scientific paper for it. :(

The Day Aberdeen Slept!

It was some kind of weird random event set up by Flashmob \(^_^)/

'..This will entail those taking part to randomly fall to the ground (fall asleep) at the sound of the air horn in the main foyer of UnionSquare (in front of Costa coffee, see pic).
