End of Week Roundup

Maybe I should start a Weekly-roundup post from now on?
(1.) I guess biggest event this week would be the the Japanese Film Festival held by the Japan Foundation in the State Library theatre. Me and Hiro attended for 3-nights straight and enjoyed every one of them very much
so~ good!  ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
(2) Because of the Film Festival event (6.30pm), I've been spending my day time doing uni work in State Library (-> my very 1st time ever). It was a good change of study environment.
(3) Karaoke at the Hit Studio again, it has always been one of my favourite activities eversince I came to Perth. Thank gawd for Japanese Karaoke machines. ヽ(^◇^)ノ ♪♫♬
(4) I love being home.  Now that Naoya has moved in with us, and Ayaka being tied up to Kean, I get to see my favourite friends anytime, and I have never been happier!
Anyway, Yusuke visited me by surprise and stayed over this weekend, it has been a while since we hangout. Sadly though, I didn't have the time like how I used to anymore, too much assignments to be done!

Last but not least,
Here's my favourite doodles I made this week.
Doodled my breakfast that one particular morning because it was one of the most expensive (yet simplest) breakfast I've ever had. Not gonna tell you how much though :P You'll just die in disbelief.

Today my life begin

The photos above was taken on top of the infamous Wave Rock in Hyden, WA; after going through some Rock Walks. Its pretty spectacular I guess, the landform looks like a giant surf wave that was believed to have formed more than 2,700 million years ago before the dinosaurs, rawr!

Here's us infront of the Hippo's yawn - the rock that resembles a yawning hippo lol, that's that. Went to Mulka's cave afterward, unfortunately my mood wasn't that good in the afternoon = = damn you menstrual cramps!
In anyway, I would like to thank both Kean and Ayaka for bringing me and Hiro along to their one-day roadtrip :) It was actually pretty enjoyable experience,  and~.. oh! My 1st roadtrip (with friends) in Australia!

Lots of love

Good and bad~..

Atleast,

Backyard Dinner and Shooting Star

Thank gawd, things are getting cooler nowadays..
It was sizzling hot last week!
One of those days, we decided to cook and have a dinner at home.
My housemate Farid bought marinated lambchop!! My favourite!
But then, the thought of eating such a good food in a stuffy, sweltering house is such a kill joy.

We went out for fresh air. The sun was setting and weather had cooled down outside.
Still stuffy inside, we decided to carry the table and chairs out, and had our early dinner in the backyard
We stayed out till night falls..
And! And!
Guess what I saw that night!

This is where I am

Hey guys, took me so long yea?

For the first few days in Perth..
I was still worrying about finding a place to stay.
I took a walk alone around Perth City on Friday night,
Then guess what?
I coincidentally bumped into.. Faizah's family
Faizah was someone I just met during BruONZ dinner Hadee (hugs!) brought me to before I flew to OZ.
Gawd what luck!
I was really happy for being able to meet a Bruneian family in Perth, I mean, I've been all alone for a few days back then!
Faizah's family was very nice to me that they bring me around Perth when it was supposed to be their family outing (also treat me lunch and dinner)
Thank you thank you so much T_T

Anyway, that night was also when I met Farid (Fai's friend),
He told me he had an empty room in his house!
His place is pretty faraway in Queens Park though,
I need to take a 2 buses and a train to go to UWA from there.
The total journey (including waiting time and walking to my department) takes about 1.5 hour!
But atleast I had a place to stay temporarily (and so I thought) before I found an accommodation closer to Uni.

Moved in and fell in love.

After a week,  I kinda gave up searching for accommodation..
And so I bought a car instead,
it's all thanks to Farid.
He actually found me one in only 3 days! Crazy!
It's a Hyundai Excel, and it only cost me $1,600.
With this, I am now able to go to Uni within 20 minutes. ;)
So yay, I don't need to worry about searching for a closer option anymore.

Ladies and gentlemen,
let me give you a tour inside.
This is my room
The dining room
And everything else..
Uh oh! And! And!
He has a cat!
She doesn't have a name, so I called her 'Sayang' :P

First Things First

Since this is not my 1st time being alone in a foreign county, I kinda know what to do once I arrived Perth.

The reason why I need to get a sim card first is because I need the 3g internet! I need my GPS!
It took a long time for me to figure out where I was going before I could find the phone store.
Of course I asked some random people there, but somehow they're not much of a help. Here some photos I took while wondering around the city.
Eventually, I found a Vodafone store, and bought $29/month deal with 500MB internet. Although the 3g is 10x slower than the ones in Brunei, but atleast the map's working! I had to be super patient though..

And immediately I used my phone to make appointments for house viewings.

With my google map working, I was then capable of going to the Uni without the need to ask anyone. On the way, I made a friend with a very cheerful Canadian girl :) She made my day.
I was captivated by the beautiful campus upon my arrival to UWA..
Notice the giant 'breathing' flower in the middle of the pond, I thought it was the wind that made it looked like its alive.

Went to the International Student Centre and Student Support. Thought the staffs in the Housing Service will help me find a home, but all they did is giving me a thick guide booklet and led me to the computer room for me to use the net to find an accommodation myself. But that was to be expected anyway.
I spent hours and hours in the computer room day after day searching for accommodations close to UWA.

It's been nearly 10 days since I arrived Perth,
but no luck finding a place near Uni.
I was only allowed to live in Townsend Lodge for a week, so I was worried at 1st.

So where am I currently living now? :)
Wait til the next post.
